Lawsuit Over Botched Plastic Surgery Placed On Hold

The family of a woman who died after a botched plastic surgery will have to wait to have their day in court. The lawsuit, against New York plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Sachs, has been placed on hold by the New York Supreme Court (the trial court in New York) to ensure that all materials have been exchanged between the two sides.

The lawsuit alleges that following surgery, the woman collapsed and died when her life support machine was turned off.

Dr. Sachs is no stranger to malpractice lawsuits, he has made more than thirty-three malpractice payments since 1994, more than any other doctor in New York. Moreover, Dr. Sachs is now prohibited from performing any complex nasal surgeries without another doctor present.

The case is now scheduled to be heard later this summer.
